Dutch braid tutorial
You'll need:
Two temporary elastics
Three small elastics
One bigger elastic
How to do this hairstyle?
- Start by creating five part lines:
- Part line 1: on the left side of the middle
- Part line 2: on the right side of the middle
- Part line 3: start in the middle of the left part line and part towards the right part line
- Part line 4: start at the back of the left part line and part towards the right part line.
- Part line 5: in the middle
- You should have four sections on the head now. Front left, near the forehead (section A), front right, near the forehead (section B), the left section away from the forehead (section C) and the right section away from the forehead (section D).
- Put an elastic around the rest of the hair to keep it out of the way. Also put an elastic around the hair from section B and section C.
- Now start a Dutch braid in section A. Try to braid in the direction of section D.
- When you've added in all of the hair from section A, add in the hair from section D. When you've added in all of the hair from this section as well, continue braiding until the end of the hair and finish off with a small elastic.
- Now take the hair from section B and start your second Dutch braid. Add the hair from section B, braid two stitches without adding in hair and then add the hair from section C. When you've added in all of the hair from this section as well, continue braiding until the end of the hair and finish off with a small elastic.
- Now create a nice ponytail with the rest of the hair.
- Take your two braids and cross them in front of the ponytail, so put the first braid over the second braid (or the other way around). Then bring the braids under the ponytail and put an elastic around them together.
