Een mooie vlecht is natuurlijk de basis van je kapsel, maar leuke accessoires kunnen vaak het plaatje vaak helemaal af maken. Welke accessoires zijn het handigst om te hebben en wat kun je waar het beste gebruiken?

Strikken
Er zijn allerlei soorten haarstrikken - van linten waar je zelf een strik van moet maken tot spelden met een strik erop geplakt. Linten kun je bij bijna elk kapsel gebruiken, voor strikken geldt dat minder. Een grote strik aan het einde van een vlecht is bijvoorbeeld niet heel praktisch. Gebruik een grote strik liever als je een kapsel begint met een staart of aan de zijkant bij een knotje. Een kleiner strikje is vaak wel leuk aan het einde van een vlecht.

Bloemen
Ook bloemen zijn er in alle soorten en maten. Opnieuw zou ik adviseren om grote bloemen bij een staart of knot te gebruiken en de kleinere aan het einde van een vlecht. Hele kleine bloemetjes op bijvoorbeeld een draaispeldje zijn erg leuk voor in een knot.

(Schuif)speldjes
Vooral voor de jongere meisjes kun je vaak veel speldjes vinden die in het haar te klikken zijn. Erg leuk voor de kleine meisjes, maar zodra het meisje iets ouder wordt, zijn de speldjes al snel minder leuk in een mooi kapsel. Wat dan leuk is, zijn schuifspeldjes met bijvoorbeeld een vlinder of bloemetje op het einde. Deze zijn met bijna elk kapsel te combineren. Het voordeel van schuifspeldjes is dat je het speldje zelf een beetje kunt verbergen, iets wat toch altijd iets netter staat.

... zijn er nog veel meer accessoires. De drie die ik hierboven noemde, zijn de accessoires eigenlijk altijd handig zijn om te hebben in je haarspullencollectie, omdat ze bij zo ontzettend veel kapsels passen. Fun hair accessories

A beautiful braid is of course the base of your hairstyle, but fun accessories can often really complete the picture. Which accessories are useful to have and which one can you best use where?

Bows
There's all kinds of hair bows - from ribbons that you can turn into a bow yourself up to clips with bows glued onto them. Ribbons can be used in almost any hairstyle, bows in fewer styles. A big bow at the end of a braid for example isn't very practical. I'd advise using big bows at the beginning of a ponytail or on the side of a bun. A smaller bow can be fun at the end of a braid.

Flowers
Flowers are also available in all kinds of sizes. Again I'd advise using bigger flowers at the start of a ponytail or on the side of a bun and smaller ones at the end of a ponytail. Tiny flowers on a twisty pin can be fun for in a bun.

Clips/bobby pins
Especially for younger girls you can often find loads of clips with a picture on them. Great fun for little girls, but as soon as they're a little older these clips aren't that useful in a beautiful hairstyle anymore. What can be fun, are bobby pins with for example a butterfly or flower attached to them. These can be combined with almost any style. The advantage of bobby pins is that you can hide the bobby pin itself, which makes the style a little neater.

Hierbij opnieuw een aantal vakantiekapsels, deel drie alweer. Bij elke foto staat vermeld waar de foto gemaakt is, dit staat onderstreept. De dik gedrukte tekst legt uit hoe het kapsel gemaakt is. Vacation hairstyles III

Again some vacation hairstyles, part three already again. Each photo has listed below where it was taken, this is underlined. The words in italic will explain how the style was done. Canyonlands

Maak twee 4 plukken vlechten met microvlechtjes zoals uitgelegd in het filmpje.

Do two 4 strand braids with a microbraid as explained in the tutorial.

Arches National Park

Begin iets achter het linkeroor met het maken van een kantvlecht. Je voegt dus alleen aan de voorkant haar toe. Probeer de vlecht te 'sturen', zodat het een ronde vorm wordt. Ben je bij het rechteroor, vlecht dan nog een klein stukje door en maak dan een staart van het losse haar en het vlechtje. Pak het bovenste gedeelte van de staart en maak hier een gewone vlecht mee. Stop om de paar stukjes en pancake (maak breder) aan één kant. Breng de vlecht dan in de vorm van een bloem en zet vast met schuifspeldjes onder de kantvlecht.

Start just behind the left ear with a lace braid. You'll only add hair from the front. Try to give the braid a good direction, so that it becomes a round shape. When you've reached the right ear, braid on a little further and then make a ponytail from the loose hair and the braid. Take the top section from the ponytail and start a regular braid. Stop every few stitches to pancake the braid on one side. Then turn the braid into the shape of a flower and pin it into place below the lace braid.

Zion National Park

Begin aan de rechterkant met een Geknoopte waterval vlecht. Ga door tot het linkeroor en maak dan een slordig knotje van al het haar, inclusief de waterval vlecht. Maak eventueel af met een bloem of strik.

Start on the right side with a Knotted waterfall braid. Continue until you've reached the left ear and then create a messy bun with all of the hair, including the waterfall braid. Finish off the style with a flower or a bow if you like.

Last minute ideeën voor paaskapsels

Morgen is het Pasen, voor veel mensen een feest van paaseieren, paashazen en lekker eten met familie. Maar hoe zit het met paaskapsels?

Een paashaas of een paasei in je haar maken wordt wel erg lastig natuurlijk, maar er zijn best leuke kapsels die je kunt doen zonder al te ingewikkelde technieken uit de kast te hoeven halen. Een aantal ideeën:

• Maak je kapsel af met een strik waarop een konijn/haas, kip/kuiken of iets paasachtigs staat. Simpel, maar helemaal Pasen!
• Gebruik een lichtgeel of lichtgroen lint in je vlecht. Op mijn YouTube kanaal Miriam's Vlecht Lessen vind je een hele afspeellijst met kapsels met lint ter inspiratie.
• Pasen gaat vaak over de paashaas en over kippen die eieren leggen, maar bloemen horen natuurlijk ook bij Pasen en zijn erg makkelijk te maken van vlechten. Op de foto zijn de bloemen gemaakt van opschuifvlechten en gebruikt als accent bij een gewone invlecht.

Last minute ideas for Easter hairstyles

Tomorrow it's Easter, for many people of holiday of Easter eggs, Easter bunnies and tasty meals with the family. But what about Easter hairstyles?

Creating an Easter egg or the Easter bunny in your hair would be very tricky of course, but there are plenty of hairstyles you can do without using all too difficult techniques. A few ideas:

• Finish off the hairstyle with a bow that has a picture of a rabbit/bunny, chicken/baby chicken or anything else 'Eastery' on it. Easy, but a very fun Easter hairstyle!
• Use a light yellow or light green ribbon in your braid. On my YouTube channel Miriam's Vlecht Lessen you can find an entire playlist with ribbon hairstyles as inspiration.
• Easter is often about the Easter bunny and about chickens laying eggs, but flowers are also a part of Easter and easy to make out of braids. The flowers in the photo have been made using slide up braids and are an accent next to a regular French braid.

Wie gaat vlechten, zal bijna altijd elastiekjes moeten gebruiken. Maar vaak is een groot, dik of opvallend gekleurd elastiek niet mooi als je net een prachtige creatie hebt gemaakt. Daarom een aantal tips voor het gebruik van elastiekjes in vlechtkapsels:

• Probeer waar het kan kleine elastiekjes te gebruiken. Deze kleine elastiekjes vallen veel minder op dan de grote, dikke elastiekjes. Let wel op: de dunnere kleine elastiekjes kunnen makkelijker breken. Gebruik daarom twee elastiekjes of kies voor een iets steviger klein elastiekje.
• Probeer een elastiekje te gebruiken dat lijkt op de haarkleur. Gebruik bijvoorbeeld geen zwarte elastiekjes in blond haar of licht gekleurde elastiekjes in donker haar.
• Heb je een groot, wat steviger elastiekje nodig voor bijvoorbeeld een paardenstaart? Een 'hair wrapped ponytail' is een oplossing: wikkel een pluk van het haar om het elastiekje heen om het te verbergen.
• Probeer je elastiekje te verbergen met bijvoorbeeld een strik, bloemetje of ander speldje. Maak je een vlecht met linten? Dan kun je de linten gebruiken om een strikje te maken.

Using elastics

Those who start braiding, will almost always have to use elastics. But often a big or bright colored elastic doesn't look nice in a beautiful hairstyle. That's why I have some tips here for the use of elastics in braid hairstyles:

• Try to use small elastics where you can. These small elastics are much more difficult to notice than the big elastics. Do pay attention: some thinner small elastics can break easily. Use two elastics or choose a little thicker small elastic.
• Try to use an elastic that matches the hair color as much as possible. So don't use a black elastic in blond hair or a light colored elastic in dark hair.
• Do you need a bigger elastic for, for example, a ponytail? A hair wrapped ponytail would work great: wrap a strand of hair around the elastic to hide it.
• Try to hide the elastic with, for example, a bow, flower or other hair clip. Are you doing a ribbon braid? Then you could use the ribbons to make a bow.

Om een vlecht of kapsel iets meer kleur te geven, kun je altijd een bloem als accessoires gebruiken. Een andere leuke optie is om zelf een bloem te maken, maar dan van een vlecht.

Een bloemvlecht kan van allerlei verschillende vlechttechnieken gemaakt worden. Mijn favoriete bloemvlecht is die gemaakt van een gewone vlecht. Hierbij pancake je één kant van de vlecht, zodat je echt een mooie bloemvorm krijgt.

Een bloem kun je op twee manieren maken: de vlecht in een bloemvorm brengen door een rondje te maken met de vlecht en daarna de rest van de vlecht eromheen te wikkelen. De andere manier is onderaan de vlecht beginnen en de vlecht op te rollen. De eerste manier is mijn favoriete manier.

Tips:
- Gebruik zoveel schuifspeldjes als nodig om de bloem stevig vast te zetten. Probeer ze te verstoppen onder de vlecht.
- Gebruik je de pancake techniek, pancake de vlecht dan niet helemaal tot onderaan. Vaak wordt het haar hier namelijk iets dunner en krijg je veel losse plukken.

Flowers

To make a braid or hairstyle more colorful, you can always use a flower. Another fun option is to make the flower yourself, but then from a braid.

A flower braid can be done with all kinds of different braiding techniques. My favorite flower braid is the one made out of a regular braid. You can pancake one side of the braid so you'll get a real beautiful flower shape.

A flower can be done in two ways: turn the braid into the shape of a flower by making a circle and wrapping the rest of the braid around it. The other way is to start at the bottom of the braid and then to roll up the braid. The first way is my favorite way.

Tips:
- Use as many bobby pins as needed to secure the braid. Try to hide them under the braid.
- When using the pancaking technique, don't pancake all the way down. The hair will often get thinner here and you'll get a lot of fly-aways.
