4 strand ribbon braid tutorial
You'll need:
1 ribbon
2 small elastics
A flower or a bow if desired
How to do this hairstyle?
- Start off by brushing and combing the hair. Then create a side part.
- Take a small section of hair on the side with the most hair, next to the part. Bring this section out of the way for a moment.
- Secure a ribbon to a small elastic.
- Take a small strand of hair below the section you've just brought out of the way. Put the elastic with the ribbon tied to it around this small strand.
- Take your first section and divide it into 3 strands. Use the ribbon as the fourth strand.
- Start a 4 strand ribbon braid: bring the left strand under the strand next to it and over the ribbon and then cross the right strand over the strand next to it and under the ribbon.
- Bring the left strand under - over again.
- Take a small strand of hair from your right strand and bring it out of the way for a moment. Then cross the right strand over - under.
- Repeat step 7.
- Take a small strand of hair from your right strand and bring it out of the way.
- Take the first small strand you've brought out of the way, bring it under the second small strand and add it back to the right strand. Then cross the right strand over - under.
- Find the small strand you've just added back in and carefully pull on it to create a loop.
- Now repeat step 9 through 12 until your braid is long enough to reach the other ear.
- Take a small strand of hair behind the ear and add it to your braid. Put a small elastic around the braid and the strand of hair (by taking a small strand of hair from behind the ear and adding it to your braid, you make sure your braid stays in place).
- If you like, you can add a flower or a bow.
